Catch Tom weekdays from 2pm to 7pm
Tom Devitt, also affectionately known as “The King of Afternoon Radio” has lived in Northern Michigan for 16 years. He is a proud husband and father of 3 boys ages 13 to 21. His favorite sights include; standing on top of the Sleeping Bear Dunes with Lake Michigan on one side and Glen Lake on the other, watching the sunset under the Mackinac Bridge, watching a storm roll in at Pictured Rocks and overlooking Lake Michigan while driving through the tunnel of trees.
After graduating with a Business Degree from Wayne State University, Tom worked for several years as a Branch Manager and Mortgage Loan rep before realizing it wasn’t for him. After analyzing his strengths he realized the things he did best were listening to Classic Rock music, watching sports and generally being a wise guy. Fate, also know as Terri Ray, approached one day while he was sitting on the train tracks throwing rocks, and asked if he would like to be star on KLT, his response, “I’d like that, I’d like that very much!”
His list of the TOP 5 Concerts of all times include:
1* The Rolling Stones at the Pontiac Silverdome. The Stones are his favorite band.
2* Kid Rock at Boyne Mountain. Uncle Kracker warmed up for him and he describes it as a perfect night in Northern Michigan.
3* 1983, The Police at Joe Louis Arena. At the time the Police were the best band out., Bryan Adams opened for them and the next year the band broke up.
4* 1981, Elton John at Pine Knob (DTE). Elton was on a 3 year hiatus from touring, his friend John Lennon had been shot the year before and he had written and performed a song called, “Empty Garden”, in his honor.
5* 1996 Jimmy Buffet at Pine Knob (DTE). This was his first Buffet concert and it was a memorable one!
